Last October I put my house on the market to sell with anticipations of building a new house. My house sold within two weeks of it being on the market. Construction on the new house wouldn’t start for 5 months. This meant packing up and moving into my parent’s house for several months. Treat Petite became a chaotic mess while living with them. I started going to flea markets and doing pop-up shops and had lots of fun with all of that. But due to limitations in space at my parent’s house, creating videos and tutorials was put on hold. Their home was just too crowded for me to set up a studio for filming.
The builders started construction on my new house in March of this year. We finally closed in July! Then the arduous task of moving, unpacking, and setting up the new house began. I started with replacing most of my furniture – which meant moving into basically an empty house with a million boxes of “stuff”. This quickly became completely overwhelming and I lost all motivation to get things set up.
Right now, I have completed set up of my dining room, a guest room, and almost completed my bedroom. But it is no where near where I expected it to be 2 months ago. I’ve still got to get an office space set up – my computer is currently in the dining room. There is still so much work to do. The kitchen is almost set up but I still need to add some shelving and some more counter space. Once all this is done, I will get back to creating videos and tutorials.
In the meantime, here’s a few pictures of the house before I moved in. The kitchen is my favorite space and with its double ovens, I’m so ready to start tackling cookie orders. Paint color is Silver Strand from Sherwin Williams.
